Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet community situated in The West Island of Montreal is something you could call a "sleepy" place. The West Island can be confusing for those who aren't familiar with its meaning. They often believe it's an island located that lies west of Montreal However, it is actually a part of the city. West Island encompasses everything between the cities of Lachine as well as West. The West Island is frequently referred to as being the place of birth for Amanda Brugel but while that is the case, her time there was not long. Brugel grew up in Courtice close to Oshawa Ontario. The first goal she had was to become an expert dancer. However, a growth rate increased her height and she outgrew her dance partners she was able to have. A Toronto Star article revealed she's six feet tall, with heels. Once I surpassed the size of my male friends, I stopped. There are many dancers who make the move into acting. For the Brugel family, it was their drama teacher who encouraged her into this path. A teacher suggested that she audition for an annual school play. After trying out the role, she was chosen as the main character of Anne of Green Gables. Following her award of the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she attended York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. Over the past 20 years, the roles played by Brugel on TV and the big screen have been numerous. The role of Rita from the award winning show The Handmaid's Tale was her most famous. Brugel appeared only on rare occasions in the first season of the series The Handmaid's tale. She was the sole Canadian participant.
