Christopher Peter Meloni, an American actor, is most well-known for his part in the show on television 'Law and Order Special Victims Unit. While in college, he started to pursue a passion for acting. At the University of Colorado at Boulder where he was studying acting. Though he's appeared in films as well as on TV but it's the character actors on smaller screens that have given him popularity. He can play two characters, one from the perspective of police officers and different. That's what makes him so popular. In his first TV series, he played the part of a killer. Then, he went on to play the part of an NYPD Detective. In recognition of his performance on tiny screens, he has received many nominations for highly coveted Emmy Awards as well as PRISM Awards. He is known for his blue piercing eyes that have been the trademark of his character and has helped him portray tough characters with charisma. He was listed on People's list of Sexiest Men Alive in 2006.
