Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka is an American British musician and sitarist. She was awarded the British House of Commons' Shield, which is the youngest and the first female to receive it. Apart from nine Grammy nominations She was also the very first Indian-origin musician to perform at the award ceremony. Anoushka Sitar Shankar was the Indian young sitar singer. She is both the student and daughter of Ravi Shankar. Born in London She spent her beginning of her career traveling between London as well as New Delhi. The first time she performed was at New Delhi at the tender 13 years old. In 1999, she completed her high school studies at Encinitas CA. Anouskha is still a young woman, but she has a very amazing career in recording and performing. She regularly performs alongside her father and has been doing so for quite a number of years. In 1998 she released her debut self-titled album Anourag. She released the album Live At Carnegie Hall, a Grammy-nominated album two years after. In addition to performing in all of the largest venues and venues, she also has an extensive stage presence. Anoushka isn't just a musician. In 2002, she wrote a book entitled Bapi The love of My Live this is a pictorial biography which pays special tribute to her father Ravi Shankar. in 2003 she appeared in Dance Like a Man as a Bharat Natyam artist. Anoushka shankar is a rising superstar and her fame will keep on growing. Anoushka Shankar is a British born singer who travelled her early years split between London, Delhi and California. She began studying music when she was nine years old and performed on the sitar in celebration of the 75th anniversary her father's birth in Delhi four years later. Anoushka was able to gain a great deal of experience touring around the globe along with her father. She performed in Carnegie Hall in her teenage years, and recorded at George Harrison's WOMAD Festival. Her talent and musicality have been recognized by British Parliament as being among the top at Asian Arts.
